Have you ever read a book and compared it to a Nic Cage movie?
You haven’t?
Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. In book reviews for this site, I’ll compare books to one of five Cage classics:
1. The Wicker Man = a bad book not worth reading.
2. Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans = a bad book worth reading.
3. Con Air = a good, easy read.
4. Face/Off = a good, slightly challenging read.
(After all, taking faces off is more complex than hijacking a plane.)
5. Adaptation = a good but very dense read.
What do you think of this scale?

This scale cannot be taken seriously without Wild at Heart. Granted it could be an extreme score, maybe signifying an outlier. How about: “99. Wild at Heart= This book represents a symbol of my individuality, and my belief in personal freedom.”

Great suggestion. I was not familiar with that Cage flick until you mentioned it.
After some investigation, I found out two fun facts about Wild at Heart: 1) It features Willem Dafoe and 2) it has CRISPIN GLOVER, a.k.a. George McFly.

Ha, it’s certainly entertaining. My favorite part is when his accent inexplicably changes halfway through the movie.
I do know, though, that Roger Ebert LOVED it.
