Richard Dawkins Hate Mail

The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science released a hilarious new video this month. In it, atheist Richard Dawkins reads more hate mail from Christians. Watch the video now.

WARNING: this video contains very strong language. (If you missed the other videos of Dawkins reading his hate mail, click here. You can read my review of his recent movie about religion and science here.)

What do you think of this batch of hate mail? My favorite part is when Richard tries to read with a Southern accent. It reminds me of another poor attempt at a Southern accent—by Nic Cage in Con Air.

  1. May God open the eyes of your heart, including the writers of the mails. I only pray that anyone who decides on atheism takes things into their own hands and question what they are being told. Even atheists will accept that this world is full of lies constantly bugging you that you can’t even tell it unless you start to question and discern and think for yourself. All need a share in grace sooner or later. I hope atheism itself will begin to show its true color to all. Love to all…

  2. if your a Christian and you talk like that to people, no wonder why so many people are converting to atheism. Christians are representing Jesus Christ who specifically told his children to not curse and not to mutter idol words. We look like hypocrites when we swear and curse, and spew hate on people just because they don’t believe what we believe. that is not a good way to witness! Those are horrible things to say to anyone! Unbelievers and the spiritually immature speak like that. There are many reasons why one would write things like that if they say they are Christian, one of them is, they are very immature in their faith and new to Christianity, or they could never have been saved at all…many other reasons. but people are watching christians and their behavior and attitudes toward others, that is why we are called to be salt to the earth and the light into this world.

  3. I love to watch people of faith lose it and resort to infantile name calling and deluded supposissions in the context of claiming their superiority in their faith by being so outlandishly un-Christlike by using repulsive profanity that any serious religious or even a sensible agnostic would almost run to the alter of atheism.

  4. The biggest sin of all is not rejecting God if you don’t know him, but rejecting him if you do… so it’s the Christians who need all the prayers in this case… because if we’re the ones who are like that, God help us!! We need all the grace we can get! Lord Jesus, please cleanse us of these demons that cling to us; in your name, cast them out and replace them with a spirit of forgiveness and love, that which you have shown us and intended us to abide by in the first place. We have run seriously aground of your commandments and WE are the ones in peril. Leave the atheists to their own devices because right now we are the ones in need of some serious spiritual CPR. In the name of the Holy Ghost, Amen, let it be done.

  5. Christ teaches us to love one another and forgive each other. Christ taught us to be humble and speak kindness to each other. We don’t hate and we don’t curse! It breaks my heart to hear what they wrote to you. It breaks my heart that they use the name of our God in vain. Mr. Dawkins, whatever you read from these people’s mail… I rebuke them! That is not the behavior of a true Christian! Please forgive them! I respect your intelligence Mr. Dawkins… please consider what Christ told us.. “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.” (Proverbs 17:14) I also rebuke this video Mr. Dawkins. As I said you are a very intelligent, respectable and popular man but please consider what my God said, “A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding. Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge. The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving. Fools mock at the guilt offering, but the upright enjoy acceptance.” (Proverbs 14: 6-9). Do you find happiness, contentment and power if people hate you? Do you think this video will promote peace to everyone’s home?

  6. Very glad to stumble into this site and read actually civil responses to atheism, agnosticism, and Mr. Dawkins specifically. As someone who cycles between atheism and agnosticism, I’m more often exposed to the hate arising out of “Christianity” that pushed me away from the church in the first place, than calm, rational followers of the faith. It can become difficult to remember that the people in this video do not represent the whole of the religion. So thank you all for that.
